!Mas Ventura!

Ventura Part 3

I know...it seems as though I'm really milking the Ventura show, right? We'll it took a lot to get out there and again, the rides in this post are very cool. In October there's plenty of local stuff happening  in AZ, GOOD STUFF! So be ready for that. Until then here's some more candy from the V-nats.

I've said it here before, I love Dia De Los Muertos (Day of The Dead) art. The logo of Loco Banditos is similar to a lot of my doodlings over the years. Cool stuff and a beautiful ride.

There's another Loco Banditos ride coming up.

The Blasters rocked the car show with guitar virtuoso, Albert Lee.

Tangiers Car Club had quite a few nice rides. Here's Brenda's bad-ass shoebox!

Ventura Bombs....Los Viejitos C.C

From the Hoods Car Club, this amazing Ranchero.

Tiki Tony
Perhaps a future, Tiki Tony

"El General" another Loco Banditos ride. It's Tony Ibarra's '31 Chevy. It is also featured in the current issue of Rebel Rodz magazine.

Another cool Tangiers' C.C. Ride: Duey's '64 Galaxie
I saw this great towering palm tree shadow at the end of the day and waited 15 minutes for a nice ride to drive into this framed set up. Nada. I had to go with Coby's Van-Go off in the background.

PUBLISHED!!

Good times at Viva Las Vegas --- my pinup shot makes the cover!
STREET MACHINE is the largest selling car/hot rod magazine in Australia. They celebrated their 30th anniversary this year. This September issue is on the stands now, mates! (Yes, I have Aussie followers).
The editor was in need of some additional photos for their VLV 14 coverage; he searched the Web and found this site. A couple email exchanges and Viola! I'm in print!

As far as I know you cannot pick up a copy of Steet Machine here in the US --- at least not easily. All you really need to see is here. (Insert one of those idiotic smiley faces here)

My six photos are mixed in with their photographer's. If you follow this site (that's a given right?) you've seen the photos in my "2011 Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Car Show" parts 1 & 2 (see the April & May 2011 archives.)

This photo is supposed to show my credit. Whatever -- you believe me.
Ironically, the worst photos I've posted here are photos of my published photos. Here are my girls again.
Both pinups here are my photos..seriously see my VLV archives if you haven't already. They look great in the mag, but this photo of my photos doesn't do the nice ladies' (or my photography) justice. Also, the Chevy custom in the bottom right, Garrettero.
Here I've got kind of a centerfold ---the John Parker and Alex Gambino super sleds and below the surf rat rod.
Also, it's cool to share a page with the Gasoline Girls, (the "F" photo taken by SM)  Kristin & Lori. I met them at the LA Roadsters show and bumped into them again at the Mooneyes event back in July. Really cool ladies. (Lori far left, Kristin second from the right).
That's it, but it's enough for me. Australia also happens to be the 2nd largest (in views) foreign country to follow my site. And I must thank the sweet, Liz Manning, my yankee Aussie connection for scoring me a couple more copies for posterity.
G'day mates!

I don't golf, but I'd take it up to drive this around all day...

2011 Ventura Nationals -- Part 2

Brian Nieri's "Phat Caddy"

Alex Gambino's suede '53 Chevy super sled.

Here's Vicky Tafoya's band "The Big Beat" delivering the goods.
And here she is, "The Rhythm & Blues Queen of Southern California" Vicky Tafoya with her husband, Vince Maldonado, also a guitar player in the band.

John Parker's shoebox has been in virtually every hot rod magazine and on this site previously (see 2011 Viva Las Vegas Part 2 in the May archives) and I'll shoot it every time I see it.

Still could not get through all the photos I want to show you. Check back in a few days for another installment (part 3) of the 2011 Ventura Nationals!
